Mountain Springs Recovery

My Experience

“I started drinking around the age of 16, socially, every once in a while. Once I got to college, I was very much a binge alcoholic and this continued until after I had my daughter. I had a bad postpartum with her and turned to alcohol even more. My rock bottom, so to speak, was my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. I started drinking at 9am that morning and was drunk for her whole birthday party. One week later, I was at Mountain Springs Recovery.”

Jenna was interviewed about her recovery journey and experience at Mountain Springs Recovery, and here is what she had to say:

When did you attend Mountain Springs Recovery?

August 29, 2021 – October 11, 2021

What is your sobriety date?

August 30, 2021

Why did you choose Mountain Springs Recovery?

It was close to my house, they allowed cell phones, so I could video call my daughter. I liked that they had visiting hours where my daughter was allowed to visit me as well.

What part of treatment did you find to be most helpful?

The group therapy and individual therapy were instrumental in my recovery. The skills they taught me allowed me to cope with my emotions and feelings, so that I don’t turn to drinking again.

Who at our program made the biggest impact in your recovery journey?

Melody – She was my individual therapist and she helped me discover myself. She allowed me to work through a lot of my issues, that eventually allowed me to be happy in recovery.

How has your life changed since attending Mountain Springs Recovery?

Today I am a much better mom, daughter, sister, partner, friend, and overall better human being.

What advice do you have for someone who may be considering treatment?

Do it! If you are even hesitating, do it! Alcohol does not have to rule your life. YOU are enough!
