Lincoln Recovery

My Experience

“A big part of my recovery was going to Lincoln. I experienced a lot of trauma in my past, and a big part of my recovery was understanding my trauma and feeling the love and support from others that have also been through similar events in my life, and I found that at Lincoln Recovery. I will always think of them as I continue my journey in life.”

William was interviewed about his recovery journey and experience at Lincoln Recovery, and here is what he had to say:

When did you attend Lincoln Recovery?

3/30/2023 – 6/27/2023 (I originally only intended to stay 30 days, but once I got more comfortable, I saw the value in staying longer).

What is your sobriety date?

3/24/2023

Why did you choose our program?

I liked the private rooms, access to phone/devices, dual diagnosis, and that insurance was accepted.

What part of treatment was the most helpful?

Group therapy and lessons that I learned from my peers.

Who at Lincoln Recovery made the impact in your recovery journey?

Group facilitator, Samantha and Nurse Ashley

How has your life changed since attending our program?

Learning which medications I needed has helped me to remain present in rebuilding my relationships with friends, family, and colleagues. I am working in my job field again, which brings me joy. Patience and acceptance are what I learned in treatment, and that has been the game changer.

What advice do you have for someone considering treatment?

People that have your best interest at heart will support you in this journey. Celebrating sobriety milestones will keep you going and empower others to take the same courageous step.
